Mr. Singhal, armed with a degree in electrical engineering, also gained valuable experience from Rockwell Automation for five years. They are pioneers as the key channel partners of Honeywell and Schneider for which they do solutions for automation application work. Planning to start a skill development institute  in the field is on the anvil here. This is slated to be of three months duration. So also, providing artificial intelligence ethos to companies is also in the works here – a bid to improve process , product quality , enhance production , reduced machine down time and finally seamless real time live data across enterprise to enhance the industrialization scores. Says Mr. Singhal proudly, “we have a number of aces up our sleeve and one of these is that we are the oldest firms in the industry and have already completed over and above 5000 projects till date”. The motto is to improve further the quality delivery and turnover number in the current financial year. Working with workforce strength of approximately 50, Mr. Singhal preens about “logging in an employee retention rate of close to 70%”. Repeat orders are very much a regular affair at Sofcon and due to this and other motivating factors they are looking at turnovers of Rs 100 crore within the next four years. The affable entrepreneur opines that “whatever one does, one should do with full commitment and zeal. Imparting justice to all work-related dogmas is an absolute must as is connecting and concentrating on new technologies that are of relevance”. There are a set of grievances that Mr. Singhal rues about. For one, the cost of semiconductors has gone up by as much as 25-30% delayed  delivery time by a sizeable margin. However, he agrees that the GST regime is “a good one”. He firmly believes that “the time period when we started out was one of the very best and we received appreciation and accolades from our customer &Pricipal that really motivated us”. As for the times to come, Mr. Singhal is sure that “the whole industry will become more digitized and faster decision-making is set to be the norm of the day. Newer horizons will dawn on the exports front and Indian companies will certainly find their value in the global arena”. Happily enough, starting from scratch way back in 1995 with an initial investment of just five lakh rupees and achieving this kind of stellar success has given Mr. Singhal a big shot in the arm.
